A New Op-Era by Miguel Azguime

Paraíso (Paradise) questions the dominant culture which imposes a single story and denounces the environmental crisis caused by the Anthropocene. Among citizens, indigenous peoples, refugees and non-human beings, Miguel Azguime constructs a contemporary parable about the urgent need to rediscover a sense of belonging to the Earth. An opera that is an appeal, a denunciation and hope — to rediscover life in symbiosis with the planet.

With this New Op-Era, Miguel Azguime continues to explore his unique approach to an entire show, simultaneously writing the music and the text. He relies once again on his closest collaborators: Paula Azguime, Sond’Ar-te Electric Ensemble, Perseu Mandillo, Andre Bartetzki… and also an exceptional cast of singers, musicians and conductor.
