Founded in 2006, Coffeepaste will mark two decades of activity in 2026, dedicated to reflecting on and promoting culture in Portugal, promoting employment and showcasing projects, artists and cultural practitioners. To mark this milestone, it is organising a one-day conference bringing together professionals from the arts and culture, creators, programmers, managers, communicators and researchers to discuss the issues that define the sector today.
Held in sala Bernardo Sassetti at the São Luiz Theatre, the conference is organised into four panel discussions, which will address the funding and sustainability of cultural organisations, the impact of artificial intelligence on artistic creation and on professions within the sector, the challenges of creating and programming outside major urban centres, and the internationalisation of the arts.
Throughout the day, a number of performance-based moments punctuate the programme, highlighting the link between debate and artistic practice. More than just a one-off event, this conference serves as a forum for coming together and sharing ideas on the present and future of culture in Portugal.
