The show Cratera is scheduled to premiere in June 2023, but in the meantime CiRcoLando shares a 1st movement, in the form of a staged reading. The project is based on the idea of anthropologist Michael Taussig who, discussing the problem of climate change, defends the need for a new kind of language and thinking. Without a radical revolution at this level, we will no longer be able to debate the issue in all its depth. He suggests that we should draw inspiration from our own experience of extreme climate situations and move the debate to a border zone where the outside and inside appear much more confused. We are left with this idea of borderline experiences of connection with the earth and nature that enhance other forms of lucidity; experiences that enhance the approach to an archaic background, a ground body of the earth where everything is much more amalgamated. The volcanic landscape seemed to CiRcoLando the ideal place for this kind of laboratory, having decided to focus the research and part of the creation process in Cape Verde.
