There are hotels where you go to sleep and others where you go to have fun! At the Hotel Paraíso, respectable people rarely use their real names.
Caught between the desire to keep up appearances and the constant temptation to let them slip, there is a sense that something is about to happen. Time and reality give way to a surreal dimension, as absurd as it is familiar. Drawing on the famous farce *L’Hôtel du Libre Échange* (1894) by Georges Feydeau and Maurice Desvallières, this production revisits the vaudeville comedy: with its excesses, tension and artificiality, where the absurd emerges not as an exception, but as the unspoken rule of this place.

This production, presented as part of the Theatre and Performing Arts Project of the Theatre Degree Programme at the School of Theatre and Cinema, brings together final-year students from the Acting, Set Design and Production streams in an experience of artistic and technical collaboration in a setting that closely mirrors professional practice.

As part of the ongoing partnership between the Higher School of Theatre and Cinema and the São Luiz Municipal Theatre, the students present their work as part of a programme open to the city and the public.
