FIMFA Lx – the International Festival of Puppetry and Animated Forms – continues to chart the future of the puppetry arts and returns to one of its main venues, the São Luiz Municipal Theatre, with bold productions in which materials come to life.
More than simply celebrating tradition, FIMFA highlights the puppet’s ability to reinvent itself as a contemporary and multidisciplinary art form, reaffirming the festival’s role as a living laboratory of imagery and critical thinking about the world today.
In each edition, FIMFA becomes a true performance platform for the puppetry arts, showcasing renowned artists and young creators with innovative projects that blend puppetry with various other art forms,as well as other activities.
Images, bodies, shadows, light, sound, poetic machines and all manner of objects and materials come to life in myriad ways – FIMFA invites you to explore and reflect on the world from a different perspective.
