The 1st December marks World AIDS Day. On that day, the São Luiz Theatre once again hosts the Abraço Gala, an evening of celebration, inclusion, and solidarity. Created in 1992 by Carlos Castro, under the name Gala Night of the Travestis, this transformation show — with drag performers, drag queens, trans artists, LGBTQIA+ and supporters — remains a moment of resistance against prejudice and a stand for human rights and equality. The São Luiz Theatre has been associated with the event for over a decade, and proudly joins this Gala filled with joy, glamour and good humour, supporting the essential work carried out by Associação Abraço with people living with HIV/AIDS.
