In the context of the presentation of the show Dimanche, part of FIMFA Lx23, from May 26th to 28th at Teatro São Luiz, actor and director Sicaire Durieux, from the company Chaliwaté, invites you to discover the fundamental principles of physical theatre, the specific bases of the arts of mime and gesture. Through simple exercises it will be approached the musicality of the movement, the precision of the gesture, the game with the invisible, the fixed point and the moving point, the different types of movement, but also isolation and dissociation, rhythmic work linked to burlesque representation and metamorphoses.
This initiation is based on the teachings of Etienne Decroux, Marcel Marceau and Jacques Lecoq.
Accessible to all types of participants, from the age of 18, willing to fully enjoy this masterclass.

BIO
Sicaire Durieux is an actor, director and co-artistic director of Cie Chaliwaté, which he created in 2005 with Sandrine Heyraud. Graduated in the arts of gesture, they defend a visual language without words, poetic, physical and artisanal, mixing physical theater, theater of objects, circus and dance. Present and active on the Belgian and international scene, Cie Chaliwaté creates shows without language barriers and accessible to as many people as possible.
His first show Joséphina was created in 2009. He won several awards in Canada, Mexico and Spain and was nominated for the Maeterlinck Prize, in 2013, in the “Revelation” category. In 2011, the show Îlo, aimed at young audiences, was presented at the Rencontres Jeune Public de Huy, in Belgium, where it received several awards. It was selected to be presented at the Théâtre des Doms, at the 2012 Festival de Avignon, and soon after it starts its national and international tour. The company’s latest creation, Jetlag, was included in the Belgian Asspropro program and was nominated for the Prix Maeterlinck, in the Best Circus Show category.
Cie Chaliwaté created with Cie Focus the show Dimanche and its short version, Backup, which received the Total Theater Award at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, in 2018.
Cie Chaliwaté has already given more than 600 presentations in about twenty countries all over the world.
