“Our aim is not only to create music as a trio, but also to explore and develop, at the same time, the possibilities for solos and duets within the trio format.
We find in the concept of the tertium quid — a third thing, undefined and indefinable, yet related to two defined or known things — something that is both intriguing and relevant to our collaborative work, and our exploration of this phenomenon is reflected in the music we present.
In our joint explorations, we continually seek out territory that is new to us and to the audience. To borrow the words of J. Krishnamurti, we are constantly interested in experiencing ‘Freedom from the Known’ through the process of collective improvisation.”
