Many artists imagine that whatever their past selves created or interpreted, their present selves could do better, and would be willing to make corrections and improvements to their work that they would never tolerate from any editor or producer. How to distract them? By inviting them to take on new challenges. Contrafogos is a programme of creation and presentation for public experience, in an installation, of music developed using the three-dimensional immersive sound technology known as Ambisonics. The proposed theme is Transfiguration and the pieces were commissioned from Joana da Conceição, Nídia, Sei Miguel and Sonic Boom. The lighting design is the responsibility of matéria leve: created by Gabriela Clavería and Ana Luísa Novais, accompanied and mentored by Leticia Skrycky. The aim is to enchant, to promote sensitisation, neuronal, physical, sensualist, to mobilise the public for the aesthetic proposal and artistic intervention in sala Mário Viegas.
