Crepúsculo d’Eva, um espetáculo em forma de assim is structured as a series of numbers and sketches rooted in popular culture, where the memories, characters and places of Lisbon’s collective imagination come to life on stage. From this territory, references to high culture are summoned with humour and irreverence, in a play of contrasts between the everyday and the theatrical, the intimate and the performative. At the centre is Fernando Santos, widely recognised through his iconic Deborah Kristall, who here reveals himself beyond the character. The show blends theatre, memory and performance, drawing on first-hand experiences, from his childhood in Mouraria and leading the audience through a world populated by striking characters.
Straddling the comic and the intimate, the production unfolds as a succession of scenes in which the real and the performative intertwine, incorporating musical interludes, including live fado performances and evoking references to figures such as Shakespeare, Natália Correia, Gil Vicente, Mário de Cesariny… Between transformation and revelation, a territory is explored where identity, representation and memory become inseparable.
The performance invites reflection on cross-dressing as both an artistic practice and a symbolic territory. Historically associated with transgression and ambiguity, it emerges here as a creative device that challenges fixed categories of identity. Through concepts such as androgyny, artificiality, provocation and subversion, a theatrical language is constructed that blends the biographical with fiction, affirming identity as a constantly shifting construct. A constellation of figures is constructed, whose connecting lines form a portrait of a Lisbon that is often unknown.
