Description

In May, FIMFA Lx – International Festival of Puppetry and Animated Forms commemorates 25 years and 25 editions. A quarter of a century showing the best work produced within contemporary puppetry arts, with artists from all over the world, while also displaying ancestral techniques that should not be forgotten, in a programme that has turned FIMFA into one of the most important international festivals.

Teatro São Luiz, one of its main stages, will host puppet and animated form creations for all ages. Images, bodies, shadows, light, sound, poetic machines and all sorts of objects of materials that come to life in various ways. All thanks to the inventiveness and ingenuity applied in combining manipulation techniques with irreverent and unique shows, as well as masterclasses and meetings with the artists.

This is a journey through an artistic domain that was able to bring down borders and capture the attention of all sorts of artistic fields, establishing links with dance, theatre, visual arts, cinema or new technology. Let’s grab our compass: from north to south, east to west, FIMFA invites us to explore the world through different eyes.
