2002 documentary, which follows, in a small rural French community, the school year of a teacher, Georges Lopez, and his class of 12 children aged between 4 and 11.
Lopez, a veteran educator on the cusp of retirement, is a model of sensitivity and understanding in dealing with children. Never raising his voice and speaking directly to them, his affection is as evident as the respect and trust the children have for him.
