Manuel Alegre’s 85th birthday is the moment to celebrate and pay tribute to the poetry of one of the most sung Portuguese poets of all times. Um Só Dia brings together great names of Portuguese music, with special appearances by Jorge Palma, Cristina Branco and Ana Bacalhau, among others. In this concert, famous songs, such as Meu Amor é Marinheiro or Uma Flor de Verde Pinho, are brought to life with new arrangements, and for the first time Joana Alegre’s unpublished songs set to music based on her father’s poetry will be presented. With artistic direction by André Santos and curated by Joana Alegre, this is a celebration of the present and for the future, in music within the mother-tongue.
