According to François Matarasso, “Participatory Art happens when professionals and non-professionals use their different skills, types of imagination and interests, to create together something they couldn’t do individually”.
What doors are opened by this form of shared art? What new opportunities does it bring? What challenges and risks are anticipated?
Teatro São Luiz and EGEAC join the Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian’s PARTIS initiative to promote a day of talks about Participatory Art, at a time when the debate about the democratisation of access to art and artistic creation is becoming increasingly pertinent and necessary.
These conversations, in parallel with the presentation of Meio no Meio, by Victor Hugo Pontes, with the participation of different agents of the artistic community, among programmers, public, journalists, professional artists and non-professional artists.
